Sunshine Friends Inc. has approximately 150 volunteers that bring their pets to visit residents at more than 45 facilities in Central New York. Not only does SFI provide services in Onondaga County, the organization has expanded to Oswego, Cortland and Cayuga counties. SFI volunteers bring smiles to more than 600 people every month.

If anything, the growth of Sunshine Friends, Inc is evidence of the increasing popularity and use of pets for therapeutic means. Hopefully this also means that recognition of the human-animal bond is escalating.
